Welcome to the world of the unexpected!
Get ready for a captivating night at the circus packed with thrills, extraordinary feats, laughs and fantastic live music as Flown makes a welcome return to Brighton Dome this festive season following a sell-out run at Brighton Festival 2014.
A troupe of acrobats, aerialists, daredevil stuntmen and musicians are going to put on a jaw-dropping spectacle for you. But there’s a problem; no one is prepared and mishaps, disasters and disagreements threaten to wreck the show. A flying aerialist is still ironing her dress, a cranky diva gets tangled in the rigging, and is that one of the stuntmen dangling from the lighting bar? It seems that catastrophe is just one wrong move away…!
‘beautiful and bonkers’ The Scotsman
Irreverent and silly, bold and breathtaking, Flown asks you to delve into a world of choreographed chaos as performers fly, fling, spin and swing across the set in perfect time. An experience for everyone to treasure, it’s a captivating show packed with thrills, laughs and extraordinary feats all set to a live soundtrack.
‘skin-tinglingly good’ **** Time Out
Pirates of the Carabina (POC) specialises in theatrical, highly technical circus shows combined with live music. A group of 10 experienced artists, the company have created a platform for developing their own ideas, bringing to the stage the qualities that best express their essence. POC was formed organically out of a one-off commissioned performance of Flown for Glastonbury Festival in 2011. As a result of Flown‘s success, the Glastonbury Arts Commission has become an established award, offering a platform for new circus companies.
‘a series of faux mishaps that are delivered with immense skill and generosity of spirit’ The Times
During 2013-2014, Flown toured to venues across the UK, performing over 80 shows to more than 26,000 people – including two sell-out shows at Theatre Royal Brighton as part of Brighton Festival 2014.
