Joining them is the phenomenal not-so-traditional babatoni player Gasper Nali from the shores of Lake Malawi, and Guinean balafon player N'famady Kouyaté whose music blends West African heritage with western influences from the likes of The Flaming Lips.

Gasper Nali
A not-so-traditional babatoni player from the small town of Nkhata Bay on the shores of Lake Malawi.
Producing a unique style of Kwela music, Gasper Nali uses the babtoni, an African one-string homemade 3-metre long bass guitar, a stick and an empty beer bottle, cow skin kick drum and catchy melodies to create the most danceable original Afro Beats possible.
His online video of him playing by the lake shore received an extraordinary amount of online attention, amalgamating over 20 million views.
N'famady Kayouté
Winner of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2023
Guinean-born, Cardiff-based balafon player N'famady Kayouté blends his West African heritage with Western musical influences to create vibrant and joyous atmospheres that are fuelled by his on-stage charisma and charm.
With masterful ease he wields the West African traditional wooden xylophone and guitar throughout his shows, appearing at festivals like The Great Escape, Greenman and Latitude.
